The Dawkins Delusion

The Dawkins Delusion - McGrath, Alister
Availability:
Our Price: £6.72

Richard Dawkins' "God Delusion" is a bestselling book. Which suggests that its arguments are influencing popular culture, and are thus likely to be widely encountered by Church leaders and members.

There is an obvious need for a book aimed at Christians, responding to the main arguments of this book. What is proposed in 'The Dawkins Delusion' is a brief response to the most significant arguments that Dawkins deploys.

Customer Reviews

One of the Better Dawkins Critics
Alister McGrath is a former atheist, a biologist and a theologian which puts him in a unique position to answer the criticisms of Richard Dawkins. On a personal level this book was a huge help for me, I would recommend it to anyone who struggles with the criticism that comes from the 'new atheists'. Not only does it quickly disperse several of their main arguments it does so in a kind and gentle way which is in stark contrast to the angry rants of Dawkins. The only way in which The Dawkins Delusion suffers is that is was rushed out in response to the God Delusion and so is not as complete or well crafted as it could have been. Though it remains an excellent contribution to the debate.

The other side of the argument.
I think that everyone who has read The God Delusion should also read this book. Not because I agree with its sentiments or arguments, but because it is always important to hear both sides of a debate, and it will help atheists to understand the theists point of view.
